Basis of the study

Podstawą wykonania ekspertyzy jest umowa nr 544/2019/Wn50/NE-OZ/D o dofinansowanie w formie dotacji na wykonanie pakietu opracowań, The basis for the preparation of the study is Agreement No. 544/2019/Wn50/NE-OZ/D on subsidy in the form of a grant for the preparation of a package of studies, expert opinions and guidelines on municipal waste management in Poland of 21.10.2019 and Annex No. 1/654 of 31.12.2019 concluded between the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Warsaw and the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute in Warsaw. The package of studies entitled “Municipal waste management in Poland” includes, among others, “Cost analysis of municipal waste management”, which is the subject of this study.

Purpose and scope of the study

The purpose of the study is to collect data on the costs of municipal waste management and to carry out an analysis of trends, together with an indication of the main reasons for the increase in charges for the management of this waste.

The scope of the study includes:

  • collection of data on factors affecting the costs of municipal waste management,
  • analysis of the rates of fees for municipal waste management,
  • analysis of the costs of municipal waste management at RIPOK (IK),
  • breakdown of operating costs of municipal waste management systems,
  • analysis of the causes of price increases,
  • state of play report,
  • recommendations.
