Green transition in practice: Demonstrating and disseminating the benefits of producing biogas from bio-waste

The project aims to stimulate the green transition in Poland and Norway by demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of using bio-waste for biogas production in the Municipal Functional Region Tomaszów Mazowiecki-Opoczno and lay the groundwork for scaling up in other regions.

The scope of the project includes, among others:

  • developing a catalog of good examples (practices) from Poland, Norway and the world, where successfully invested in the production of biogas from biomass and bio-waste
  • exchange of knowledge in the field of organizing bio-waste collection and biogas production from biomass and bio-waste as well as inter-sectoral/international cooperation
  • cooperation with local authorities to conduct a preliminary feasibility study on how biogas production solutions should be implemented in the region
  • assessment of challenges and needs related to green transition.

FINANSOWANIE

The project is financed within the framework of the Fund for Bilateral Relations, the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014-2021 and Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021. The total cost of project is 247 021 EUR.
