Minister Paulina Hennig-Kloska appointed a new Director of the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute

Marcin Stoczkiewicz Ph.D. Eng. has been appointed as the director of the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute (Instytut Ochrony Środowiska – Państwowy Instytut Badawczy – IOŚ-PIB) by the Minister of Climate and Environment, Paulina Hennig-Kloska. The new director of IOŚ-PIB is a Doctor of Laws, specialist in economic law, environmental protection law and climate protection law, and the author of several dozen scientific publications.

Marcin Stoczkiewicz Ph.D. Eng. is a lawyer and manager with more than 20 years of experience in working for the public and private sectors (as a partner at the environmental law firm Jendrośka Jerzmański Bar & Partners, 2002–2010) and in the non-governmental sector (ClientEarth, 2010–2024, now Head of Environmental Law Group [Thriving Planet] at ClientEarth’s global structures). Previously, he was a lecturer and an associate professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University, chair of public business law and next chair of environmental law (2002–2013).

He is the author of  books: „Pomoc publiczna dla przędsiebiorstw energetycznych w prawie Unii Europejskiej” (State aid for energy undertakings in EU law), Wolters Kluwer, 201, and „Prawo ochrony klimatu w kontekście praw czlowieka” (Climate Change Law in the context of Human Rights), Wolters Kluwer 2021.
