Participation of the Institute’s Department of Atmospheric and Climate Modellingand Team in the 8th C3S GA and 3rd C3S NCP Meeting

From June 2nd to 4th, 2025, three representatives of the Climate and Atmospheric Modelling Department Phd. Eng Maciej Jefimow, Aleksandra Starzomska and Phd Eng. Karol Przeździecki took part in the 8th Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) General Assembly held in Valencia, Spain. They also participated in the 3rd meeting of the C3S National Collaboration Programme (NCP).
The C3S General Assembly brings together a wide community of researchers, data providers and end users, offering an excellent platform for networking, knowledge sharing and setting priorities for the next generation of climate services.
During the event, the ZMIAK team presented:

  • a talk on the ongoing activities within the C3S National Collaboration Programme Poland titled: Direct use of C3S products for Poland in the scope of C3S NCP.
  • a poster showcasing the use of C3S data for detecting extreme weather events titled: C3S data for extreme events detection in Poland.

Additionaly Aleksandra Starzomska presented one slide pitch about the initatives undertaken in C3S NCP Poland.
The Polish NCP initiative is coordinated by the Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute, which is the only institution in Poland implementing this programme.
