IOŚ-PIB and JRC have signed a collaboration agreement

The Institute of Environmental Protection – National Research Institute (IOŚ-PIB) has signed a collaboration agreement with the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission. The goal of this partnership is to support energy and climate policy by advancing scientific research and economic modelling-based analysis.

The JRC is the EU’s science unit. It provides reliable knowledge and research to support EU actions and help positively impact society. JRC’s Directorate C.6 in Seville conducts research focusing on the economic impacts of decarbonisation policies and regulatory instruments in the fields of energy, transport, and climate. It also develops and enhances economic modelling tools to inform policy decisions.

IOŚ-PIB, as the leading scientific and research institution in the field of environmental protection in Poland, brings long-standing expertise in providing knowledge for public administration and the private sector.

The agreement covers joint research activities, staff exchanges for knowledge-sharing, participation in conferences and workshops, and mutual sharing of data and research outcomes. This cooperation aims to enhance the quality and effectiveness of research, analysis, and evaluation of energy and climate policy in support of evidence-based policymaking.
